What is Nitric Oxide (NO)?

Nitric oxide (NO) is a naturally occurring molecule in the human body that plays a crucial role in maintaining vascular health, brain function, immune balance, and energy metabolism. Background

In 1998, Dr. Louis J. Ignarro received the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for identifying nitric oxide (NO) as a naturally produced vasodilator in the human body. Later, along with Drs. Ferid Murad and Robert Furchgott, he demonstrated that NO plays roles in cell signaling, immune regulation, and neural communication throughout the body.

Up until now, supplements related to nitric oxide (NO) have been mainly based on precursor components that induce NO production in the human body. However, as the human body ages, the activity of the enzyme (NOS) that produces NO decreases, rapidly reducing the ability to produce nitric oxide.
