What Is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)?

What Is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)? Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is a treatment that increases blood oxygen level and improves hypoxemia by allowing users to breathe high-purity oxygen under elevated atmospheric pressure inside a hyperbaric chamber. This therapy is conducted at pressures ranging from 1.5 to maximum 3.0 ATM, which is higher than normal atmospheric pressure, 1.0 ATM.

Pressure Effect:

Increased pressure reduces the size of gas bubbles in human blood and bodily fluids. This change helps alleviate symptoms and slow disease progression.

  • Pharmacological Effects and Benefits

    • Enhances Neovascularization – Stimulates cell regeneration and promotes new blood vessel formation.
    • Boosts Immune Response – Increases the phagocytic activity of polymorphonuclear leukocytes, aiding in faster healing.
    • Improves Oxygen Transport – Increases oxygen delivery to tissues with circulatory disorders by 7 to 10 times.
    • Reduces Edema & Supports Lymphatic Drainage – Helps minimize swelling and facilitates the removal of excess fluids.
    • Antibacterial Effect – Inhibits the growth of both anaerobic and aerobic bacteria.

    Oxygen Absorption Mechanism

Ordinary breathing alone is insufficient to significantly increase oxygen levels in the body. However, in a hyperbaric environment:

    • Oxygen is directly dissolved into blood plasma due to its small molecular size, allowing it to easily pass through capillaries.
    • Oxygen delivery is not dependent on hemoglobin levels, making it effective even for individuals with reduced red blood cell function.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Can the HBOT-130 be used for multiple patients back-to-back in clinical settings?
Yes, the HBOT-130 is designed for high-throughput clinical use. Its medical-grade 304 stainless steel construction and advanced climate control system allow for rapid sanitation between sessions. The chamber’s water-cooled temperature regulation prevents overheating during consecutive treatments, while the automated pressure reset ensures consistent performance.
The HBOT-130’s panoramic viewing ports, two-way intercom, and spacious bed-style design (2100mm length) significantly reduce claustrophobia. For anxious patients, our system allows gradual pressure ramping (adjustable 1.1–3.0 ATA) and includes an emergency decompression option (<5 mins). Clinicians can also pause sessions if needed.
The built-in oxygen generator requires minimal upkeep: filter replacements every 6 months (included in warranty) and an annual purity calibration check. Unlike tank-based systems, it eliminates gas logistics but maintains 95% purity. The chamber’s touchscreen alerts users when maintenance is due.
While the chamber itself is non-magnetic (304 stainless steel), patients with implants should consult their physician. The HBOT-130’s electromagnetic shielding prevents interference with most pacemakers or prosthetics at ≤2.0 ATA, but 3.0 ATA sessions may require special evaluation for safety.
Yes. The HBOT-130 offers programmable pressure protocols for tailored therapies, including pediatric-friendly low-pressure settings (1.1–1.5 ATA) and extended treatment timers for chronic conditions. Accessories like pediatric masks or extra padding can be added for comfort.
