What Is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)?
A therapy that improves hypoxemia in the blood by inhaling high-purity oxygen or breathing under high pressure inside a hyperbaric oxygen chamber. The therapy involves breathing in a chamber with pressure ranging from a minimum of 1.5 atmospheres to a maximum of 3.0 atmospheres, which is higher than normal atmospheric pressure (1 atmosphere)
Pressure Effect (Pressure effect):
Under high pressure, the size of gas bubbles formed in the blood or bodily fluids decreases, thereby exhibiting a therapeutic effect that alleviates the progression of related lesions
Theory of Combined Oxygen and Dissolved Oxygen
Pharmacological Effect (Pharmacological effect) and Benefits
- Enhancement of Neovascularization – Promotes cell regeneration
- Increased phagocytic ability of polymorphonuclear leukocytes, resulting in healing effects
- Increases oxygen transport in the blood by 7 to 10 times, enhancing oxygen supply to tissues with circulatory disorders
- Reduces various types of edema and facilitates lymphatic drainage
- Inhibits anaerobic and aerobic bacteria
Theory of Combined Oxygen and Dissolved Oxygen
- Ordinary breathing is insufficient (Oxygen inhalation alone does not increase oxygen levels).
- Due to its small molecular size, oxygen is directly dissolved in the blood plasma, making it easy to pass through capillaries.
- Does not depend on the amount of hemoglobin.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Treatment
Conditions Covered by Korean Health Insurance for Treatment
Emergency Treatment: Carbon monoxide poisoning, decompression sickness (diver’s disease), gas embolism, anaerobic bacterial infection (gas gangrene), cyanide poisoning, central retinal artery occlusion, anemia due to excessive bleeding when transfusion is not possible
Chronic Wounds and Other Conditions: Burns, Buerger’s disease, after skin graft or flap surgery, post-digit replantation surgery, tissue necrosis following radiation therapy, diabetic foot ulcers (W.3), intractable osteomyelitis, brain abscess, sudden hearing loss
Conditions Not Covered by Korean Health Insurance for Treatment
Applicable to areas with impaired oxygen and nutrient supply, as well as various conditions caused by inadequate oxygen and nutrient delivery
- Enhanced recovery after ligament or fracture surgery
- Meniere’s disease, barotrauma-induced ear damage
- Rehabilitation therapy, sports injuries, crush injuries, muscle tears
- Blindness due to filler complications
- After dental implants
- Hair transplantation
- Can be applied to multiple sclerosis, stroke, cerebral infarction, headaches, cardiovascular diseases, etc.
- Can also be used for autism, brain function decline due to hypoxia, and more
Washable High Pressure Oxygen Chamber Differences from Other Companies
Comparison | Hue Light BOHT-130 Product | Competitor Product | Description |
Tank Material and Thickness | Material: Stainless Steel (304). Thickness: 3.6mm | Material: General steel 2.0mm ~ 2.5mm | Stainless steel has a longer lifespan. The manufacturing cost is very high due to raw material costs and welding complexity. Steel-made products carry risks of leakage due to rust and corrosion. |
Transparent Door Material and Thickness | PC 30mm | PC 5mm ~ 15mm | The area where it is mainly burst by pressurization is the transparent pc door. |
Pressure | Maximum Pressure: Up to 3.0 ATA (1.3, 1.5, 1.7, 2.0, 2.3, Optional: 2.4 ~ 3.0 ATA) |
Maximum Pressure: 1.3, 1.5, or 2.0 ATA | Pressure can be freely set according to the treatment purpose during patient use. |
Pressure Setting Options | Even if initially set by an operator, the pressure can be adjusted step by step from inside during treatment. Settings: 1.1, 1.3, 1.5, 1.7, 2.0, 2.3 |
Once set by an operator, the user cannot modify it. | The user can adjust the pressure inside according to personal tolerance. |
Internal Oxygen Mask System | Special breathing mask for oxygen inhalation inside chamber | Not included | Mainly used in large chambers; not present in single-person chambers. |
Integrated Oxygen Generation System | Integrated within control system Produces 10L of 95% oxygen per minute |
Not included | Requires separate purchase and connection (Approx. 2.5 million KRW) |
Touch Control Language | Korean, English, Japanese, and 17 other languages | English or Korean
Air Conditioner | Special air conditioning for high-pressure oxygen chamber. Maintains the same performance even after reaching set pressure |
Significantly reduced performance after reaching set pressure
Pressurization Method | Air pressurization | Pressurization using oxygen gas tank or air pressurization | Using an oxygen gas tank for pressurization carries the risk of oxygen toxicity. |
Other Details | Meets medical device approval quality standards | Non-medical device or medical device
Product Price | Very reasonable price | Unnecessarily expensive | Product prices are inflated. |
