1. The Challenge: Despair Without Even Painkillers
Before turning thirty, Mrs. Sung Young-nam overcame acute leukemia twice. However, the joy of survival was short-lived.
As a sequela of chemotherapy, she was diagnosed with ‘Avascular Necrosis (AVN) of the femoral head.’
This is a disease in which bone tissue slowly dies due to blockage of microscopic blood vessels leading to the hip joint,
accompanied by extreme bone pain often compared to the pain of childbirth.
She could hardly take a step without a cane, and she couldn’t sleep due to the pain that continued every night.
The greater despair was the limitation of treatment. As she was undergoing peritoneal dialysis for chronic renal failure,
even prescribing painkillers to reduce the pain was limited. She had to hear from the hospital that “there is nothing more we can do,”
and she had to find a way to live on his own.

Recent academic studies support the positive effects of PBM on intractable pain and tissue regeneration.
① Mitochondrial Activation and Energy (ATP) Recovery The core principle of PBM is to wake up the mitochondria, the engines within cells.
When wavelengths in the 600–1,000nm range are absorbed by cytochrome c oxidase (CCO) in mitochondria, ATP production, the cellular energy source, surges.
